Easter Buckets!!

I ordered two easter buckets from Jaime at Whimsy Tin.  I should be getting them this week.  She put some pictures of my buckets on her blog.  I can't wait to get them!!

Here are the pictures from her blog.  I LOVE the way they turned out.  I can't wait to order one for my sister's baby and I want to order our family a Christmas bucket.

I used our last name on the buckets because I want to keep them out in our house after Easter.  I think I am going to put the spring one on our table and put some spring flowers in it.  And this summer I plan to fill  the baseball bucket with snacks and take it to Brock's baseball games.   I had her use blue and yellow on the baseball bucket because those are our school colors.

Jaime was really easy to work with and she did exactly what I had in mind.  Thanks Jaime,   I love my buckets!!

Grandma's Chair

Before my Grandma died she gave me two chairs from her dining room table set, one has a yellow cushion and one has a pink cushion.  They have been in our basement for years but over the weekend I decided to bring the pink one up to our living room. My Grandma LOVED pink.  In her house her bedroom was done in all pink and her bathroom was pink too.  She even had a pink toilet, sink and tub.  I loved taking baths in her pink tub when I was a little girl!  Anyway,  I added a blue pillow to it and put it in the corner of our living room.  I think it's a sweet addition to our room.  I really like it and it makes me think of my Grandma!

Happy Monday!

Easter eggs!

Tonight Brock, Ava and I dyed Easter Eggs.  I am SO thankful that Brock still likes coloring eggs with us.  I always buy a ton of eggs for them to color.  We colored half of the eggs tonight and later on this week we will color the other half of the eggs.    After Easter I used the colored eggs to make egg salad and deviled eggs-yum!

Here are some pictures from tonight.

b-b-basketball!

Almost every night this week we have been watching Brock play basketball.  He is playing in a week long tournament for boys ages 13-15 since he (and most of the players on his team) is 12 some of the games have been really loooooooong.  In his last game they lost by 25 points!  He has another game tomorrow night at 7pm, if they lose it will be his team's last game in this tournament.  This weekend he will be playing in another basketball tournament and of course we are watching the NCAA tournament games on TV!  So that's what we've been up to this week.  I also hope to get a few house projects done this weekend!  I hope everyone is having a good week :)

Our family is growing!!!

We are so happy!!  My sister Shelby and her husband Ryan are expecting their first baby!  She is due on October 1.  She went to the doctor today and everything looked perfect!  Finally, Brock and Ava are going to have a 1st cousin!

I talked to her tonight on the phone and she was telling me some names they have picked out and we were talking about what her nursery will look like.  She loves decorating and I know she is going to create a precious nursery for her sweet little baby.   She was so excited.   I know they are going to be great parents.  Congrats Shelby and Ryan!  We love you :)

Ava's birthday weekend!

Friday was Ava's birthday so we had a busy weekend celebrating her birthday!  Friday, March 19 was her actual birthday, and she and Brock had a day off from school so we spent the day together which was fun!

We actually spent about 2 hours test driving cars because I desperately need a new car my almost 11 year old car that has 158,000 miles on it is about to bite the dust!  I took Ava and our 2 sweet neighbor girls with me on the test drives because I always have at least 1 or 2 extra kids with me!  I would drive the cars and drive them up to Graig at work so he could see them too.  After much discussion, online research and debate we have settled on getting the Kia Optima which is a mid size car.  It has a ton of features and Graig and I are going to pick it up tomorrow morning.  We are getting the midnight blue (which is a navy color).

Friday night we had a small birthday celebration for Ava at our house with our neighbors.  We had pizza and ice cream cake.  Ava got to open her present from us which was the Lanie American Girl Doll.  She was so happy because that is what she REALLY wanted for her birthday!

Saturday morning we got up really early and got ready for Ava's gymnastics meet.  I didn't get to take any pictures during the meet because I was tallying the scores.  At the meet each parent has a job to do to make sure the meet goes smoothly.  I love doing the score keeping because I get a front row seat for all of the events!  Ava got 4th all around and  she got 1st place in beam!  We were so proud of her!!

Saturday afternoon Ava had her birthday party with her friends.  She had about 15 kids over to our house for her birthday party.  Thankfully it was a beautiful day so they spent a lot of time outside!  We also had an Easter Egg hunt and colored Easter Eggs.  Here are a couple of pictures from the party.

Ava's pink ballerina cake

My two interns came to the party, Sami and Amanda.  Ava loves them both!

Here's a picture of the whole gang!

Today we just went to church this morning and then got some things done around the house.  I also made some dinners and froze them so they would be ready for us this week and next week.  We have a busy week ahead because Brock is in a basketball tournament this week and Graig is one of the referees so Ava and I  are going to be watching a lot of basketball this week!

Spring foliage

I wanted to add a touch of spring to our dining room so I got out this little lemon tree that I got on sale last summer at Pottery Barn.  This little lemon tree is so cute!  People always ask me if it's real-ha ha!  I always think of spring/summer when I see this little tree!

I also got this metal planter a few years ago from my mother-in-law for Mother's Day.  I always have used it outside but I cleaned it up and brought it inside.  I added a vinyl stick on and some greens that I got at Wal-Mart.  The little bunny pick is from Pier One.  I LOVE the way it turned out.  It's a little touch of spring in our dining room!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!  To celebrate I bought steaks and we are going to grill out for the first time this season tonight!  I can't wait.

I HEART the Graphics Fairy!!

I downloaded this print from the Graphics Fairy last week.  I have seen this before and I almost ordered it from Etsy.  This is a smaller than the ones I saw on Etsy but I like the size of this one and  it fits in an 8x10 frame.

It is suppose to be SO beautiful here today!  I am so glad that spring is almost here!  I am ready for walks outside and Brock's baseball games to start up again!

Cheap (really cheap!) decorations

On Saturday morning Ava and I went to a flea market.  I always find the best stuff at flea markets!  We love going!  I found this HUGE serving platter, well actually Ava found it!    I love the color!   This is my favorite color.   The best part it's only cost 50 cents!  I put it on top of the cabinet in our dining room.  I think it is the perfect color for spring!

I went to the Dollar Tree last week and I found these decorative balls for $1 each.  I have been wanting to buy some of these but they always seem SO expensive so when I saw these I grabbed them up!

Happy Monday!

Weekend wrap up!!

We had a great weekend!!   We didn't have a lot of stuff going on this weekend but we did get to spend a lot of time together which was fun!

Friday night-we got take out pizza and hung out at home.  Ava and I had a little craft night.  Her birthday is Friday so after schoool/work we went to get some things for her party.  She is having her party at home this year and so we went and got plastic eggs and Easter candy because she wants to have  a Easter Egg Hunt at her party.  Friday night she stuffed all of the eggs with candy.  I made her a Happy Birthday sign for her party.

Today I tried to get a picture of Brock and Ava for our Easter Cards.  It was SO hard to get a good picture of the two of them together.  Here are some of the ones we aren't going to use-ha ha!

This week we only have 4 days of work/school!  Ava's birthday is on Friday and Brock and Ava have the day off of school for a teacher conference day.  Since it's her birthday Ava gets to choose what we do on Friday. Her party with her friends is on Saturday afternoon!

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Easter Decorating!

I have been very slowly getting our some of our Easter and spring decor.  I am really liking all of the spring/Easter decor that I have been seeing in blogland.  Everyone has such cute stuff!!

This is my absolute favorite Easter/spring decoration. I bought this wreath about 4 years ago and it cost more than I usually spend on decorations but when I saw it I knew I had to have it!  It is so peaceful and calming and I love the way it looks on our mantle.

I love this little nest that I got last year at Pier One.

The shelf in our living room.

Our egg tree in the dining room.  I got this tree last year and I think it's so cute!!  I really love it.

A candle holder filled with eggs.

Happy Thursday, I am getting excited for the weekend!!

Monogram mania!!

Last week I ordered a few more vinyl monograms from decal monograms.  I LOVE these monograms they are SO easy to use.  I am going to place another little order from her this week and then I think almost everything I own will have our monogram on it-ha ha!

I usually get black monograms but I got this one in grass green.  I really like it.  This is the crock that we keep all of our hats and gloves in and because we are in upstate NY I don't put our gloves and hats away until the end of April!

This was a vase that I got at a yard sale last summer, I think it looks much better with a monogram!

Happy Wednesday!

Weekend projects!

Saturday night Ava and I had a craft night at my friend Sabrina's house.  She is working on some cute spring things for a spring craft sale that she is having and I worked on some things that I have been wanting to get done for a while now.

I took the orginal pictures out of these frames and added some  scrapbook paper to the frames.  These hang in our office and I wanted a new look.  Wall hanging can be SO expensive so I tried to work with something that I already had.    I was going to paint the frames black but I am SO glad I didn't.  I really like the way they turned out!

I also made a few chalkboard trays.  I got these chalkboard trays for $1 each at the Dollar Tree.  This was a simple project! I put one in our living room and one in our upstairs hallway.

This is the one in the living room.  I put it on a shelf, I wasn't exactly sure what to write on the chalkboard.

This one is upstairs in our hallway.

Happy Tuesday!!

Weekend update!!

Why do weekends always go by soooo fast???  We had a good weekend but I can't believe it's almost over!
Friday night I had to work late because I had a leadership confererence at work.  Graig, Brock and Ava got pizza and wings and when I got home at about 7:30 we all ate together.  By 9pm we were ALL in bed because we were so worn out from the week!

Saturday morning I went and watched Ava in her ballet class.  We only get to watch twice per year so it was fun to watch her and her ballet friends.  Here are some pictures of Ava and her sweet class.

Saturday Ava and I went to a craft night at my friend Sabrina's house and Graig and Brock went to a father/son poker night at our friend's house.  I made some CUTE things at the craft night that I will show tomorrow.

Sunday morning Ava had Sunday School and we went to church then we came home and had lunch and Ava went to a friend's house.   This afternoon I took Brock for a DRIVING lesson!  We went to a huge empty parking lot by our house and I let him drive.  I have a stick shift and we want Brock to learn to drive a stick shift.  Graig has taken him a couple of times but this is the first time that I have taken him.  He did pretty good,   he only killed my car about 50 times-ha ha!  Thankfully he has a few more years  to practice!!  Here are some pictures from our lesson today.  I can't belive how BIG Brock is getting!!
