Crafty Thursday

This morning I got up early and ran in the freezing cold with Rachael.  We both wanted to bail on running because it was so cold but I'm glad we didn't!  I'm always so glad I ran  after it's over.

This morning before work I raced over to Rachael's to make wine charms as samples for our Feb. craft night.

We cut wine corks and then stamped them using numbers and letters.  Our friend who makes jewelry bought us the hardware to screw into them so we will add those this weekend.

Tonight I went to dinner to celebrate my friend Lisa's birthday!  I love her and I'm so glad we were able to go out and celebrate!

Wednesday fun

Last night my friend Kacy invited a few girls over for a girls night.  It was so fun to catch up with her and hear what's happening in her life.  It's been forever since we've gotten together!

Today I met my friend Inez for lunch. We were sad because our friend Donna was supposed to join us but at the last minute she couldn't so we sent her this funny picture.

We went to the Yellow Deli which is one of my most favorite lunch spots.  I ate all of this food and I wasn't even a little sad about it.  I love bread and their bread is to die for!  I even got a huge loaf to take home.

This afternoon Ava and I went to an event on campus for her English teacher.  She won an award at the kickoff for the College's Black History Month.  She gave a fabulous speech and she's such an inspiring woman.  I'm so glad I could take Ava to see her get the award.

Tomorrow is going to be a fun day!  I'm  going to work on our February craft project with Rachael and then I've got a birthday dinner for my friend Lisa.  And of course I've got work and I have to teach my swim class... So it will be busy and fun!  Hope you had a great Wednesday!

Throwback Tuesday

Here are some pictures highlighting last March.  March was a big month for us-Brock played his last high school basketball game and Ava turned 13!

Brock's basketball team finished their season 17-5.  They lost a heartbreaking game in the section semi finals.  Here are a couple of pics from that game.

Brock had the same two best friends all through elementary school and high school-Thomas and George.  These guys spent a lot of time together senior year.  They always let me take pics of them which is so sweet.

Our beautiful Ava turned 13 on March 19.  Here she is with her BFF Avery.

Gabe and Gretchen came for a visit.
Here is grandma Jan with all 4 of her grandkids.

Happy Tuesday

Love

I love Mondays!  Monday is my favorite day of the week.   People get super annoyed when I say it but I love how every Monday is a fresh start.

Today was full of lots of love.

Bright and early this morning I taught my fitness class. My participants were so sweet and let me post their picture on Facebook to advertise the class.  I love how they are color coordinated that was totally not planned!

Then for lunch I met four friends and we had abrainstorming   session for fundraising events for our local boys and girls club.  We put all of our ideas on the giant post it notes behind us in the picture.   I love planning events so it was fun to work with these ladies.  We came up with some good ideas and are going to meet again soon to start planning!

I got home from work and decorated our dining room hutch for Valentines Day.
I love pink so it's always fun to decorate for this holiday!

I also decorated our dining room chalkboard.  I still have some of our Christmas cards up.  It makes me so sad to take them down :-(

When the kids were little I put sweet treats in these little mailboxes in the days leading up to Valentine's Day.  I still love them.

Tonight I had book club we read The Lake House.  I loved this book!

I buy books the way some people buy shoes or purses I just love, love, love books!  I prefer  reading nonfiction.  Next month I'm hosting so I brought two books to see if the girls wanted to read either of these books.  I think both of these are great but we decided they aren't great for book club so I have to choose another one this week.

Sunday Supper

It's been freezing cold all weekend so I wanted to make us something cozy, easy  and delicious for supper tonight.

I had all the ingredients for Brock's favorite meal (too bad he left for college yesterday)  so I decided to make us Beef Goulash.

It's so simple!  Here is the recipe:

1lb hamburger
1/2 onion chopped (I leave this out)
16 ounces macaroni noodles cooked and drained
1 family size can tomato soup
2 cans corn (drained)
2 packets Italian good seasons dressing
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

Cook hamburger and boil noodles.

Add beef to noodles and mix in all other ingredients.  Bake at 375 for 30-40 min.

It is so simple and not our healthies dinner but it's absolutely yummy and we all love it!  It's also delicious as left overs the next day.

Today we did a few things around the house and this afternoon I picked up my bestie Sabrina and she helped me with a sorority recruitment event.  She's good like that :-)

Our groups don't have houses so all events are on campus.  Today our sororities had a craft day.  They made monogrammed Lilly canvases.  I think they turned out so cute!

I hope you had a great weekend!

Weekend Fun!

This morning I had fitness training at the Y.  We had an training in kettle bells.  I love using kettle bells and the training was highly informative.  It will be fun to add kettle bell excercises into my classes.

Ava had basketball games today so Graig took her to the games.   After training I met Brock for a quick lunch at his favorite pizza place before he headed back to Brockport for his second semester.

After lunch I headed home to make Graig a pie for his birthday! His birthday was Wednesday and I finally had time to make one for him.  I made peach (his favorite!) using peaches I canned.

This afternoon I had to go to work for the first recruitment event of the semester.  We had a lot of interested students come today so it was a great afternoon!

Tonight we had a little birthday celebration for my bestie Lisa.

Lisa is so happy and bubbly and we are like two peas in a pod.  It was great to celebrate her!

Tomorrow we have no plans so we are going to have a relaxing day at home.

Fri-yay!!!!

My friends Heather and Rachael took me out for a birthday lunch today.  We had fun!

We went to a new restaurant and I had the shrimp salad it was delicious!

Our waitress was so sweet and she brought me over this delicious chocolate cake.

Heather was so sweet and brought gifts. She got me a gift certificate for a facial and a flour sifter. Heather is the best cook!  I love cooking with her.   We made cookies before Christmas and I was admiring her flour sifter so it was so sweet she remembered and got me one.

This afternoon at work we had a beginning of the semester party for everyone on campus.  I was on the planning committee.  It was so fun and there was lots of great food and drinks and it was fun to catch up with friends and co-workers.  Here is a picture of our committee.

Brock has spent 6 the last days in Colorado visiting his Uncle Garth and Aunt Jill.  He texted me this selfie with his baby cousin Gretchen.

Tomorrow Brock goes back to College.  I have a training for my fitness job at the Y and we are celebrating my friend Lisa's  birthday!  It should be a fun day.

Life lately!

The college students are back.  The semester started Wednesday so I have been super busy at work.
This is a picture from our Tuesday retreat.  I'll be working with these students all semester!

Melany one of my best friends moved to Florida last July.  I'm so thankful I was able to see her a few weeks ago in Florida.  This was one of the pictures from my birthday party last weekend and Melany photoshopped her self in the picture.  She's in the front row with the jean jacket ;)

My sister sent this adorable picture of my niece.  She loves her cotton candy just like her Aunt Angie!

I ordered these two cookbooks and they came in today.  I need some quick and easy recipes so I hope these two books will give my some good ideas.

Tomorrow is Fri-yay!! Ava has a basketball game and Brock is getting ready to go back to college on Saturday. His classes start on Monday.  It's been great having him home!

Throwback Tuesday

Feb 2015 was a busy month for us!
We spent a lot of time at Brock's basketball games.

Brock had to dress up in school the day of his basketball senior night.

Here we are at his Basketball Senior Night.

I love this picture of us with our friends Donna and Vince.  Our boys started kindergarten together and played basketball together all through school.

I love action shots of Brock playing basketball :)

Our nephew Gabe and Grandma Jan loved going to the games!

Brock and his basketball friends.  I love these boys!

Ava played a lot of basketball too.  Basketball is her favorite sport.

We celebrated our friend Michelle's birthday!

We spent a lot of time x-country  skiing.

My friend Sabrina hosted a fun Oscar party.

And Moe's  one of my favorite restaurants opened up in our town!

February 2015 was a great month for us!
