We spent a glorious 5 days at Disney and we stayed at the Port OrleansRiverside resort. This is the second time we've stayed here and this time was just as nice as the first time!
Since we went to the parks every day we didn't have much time to explore our resort. We did have a few hours today before we left for the airport so I took some pictures.
This is the back of the main building that includes the front desk and gift shop. The style is southern and there are two distinct sections-alligator bayou and the mansions.
One nice feature of our hotel is the water taxi service to Disney Springs. Brock and I took the boat when we visited Disney Springs. It's a short 20 minute boat ride to Disney Springs and on the way you pass Port Orleans-French Quarter and the the Treetop Villas.
The resort is huge and this is the view from one of the bridges that connects the resort.
This was our view in the way to the dining hall. We payed for a preferred room that was close to the bus stops and the dining hall. Even though we had the preferred too I still felt we had to walk a long way to get around our resort. I kept track on my fit bit and we walked 20,000+ steps a day!
The Dining Hall is great and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. There is also a full service restaurant on site. We had all of our sit down meals off site so we didn't get a chance to try it.
This is from the mansion section of the resort. I thought this fountain was so pretty.
We stayed in the Alligator Bayou section and it was just as nice. We chose this section because the rooms sleep 5. Each room has a small Murphy bed which pulls out from the wall. These are small toddler beds perfect for our niece Ainsley.
We requested adjoining rooms on the first floor and I'm happy to report that we got both requests. It was nice being able to go into my sister's room to visit and make plans.
The pools at our resort were great. Here is the biggest one. Brock and I hung out here for a few hours one evening but it was too cold to go in. They also have hammocks to rest in which are fabulous!
Our resort also had horse carriage rides, movies under the stars and fishing. There was also daily pool parties and bike rentals. Unfortunately we didn't have time to enjoy any of these things because we were at the parks early each day and stayed until late. When we go again I would like to plan some down time to enjoy our resort.
Last year we stayed at Art of Animation and that was great too. I prefer Port Orleans though because the rooms are a tad bigger, the beautiful theming and the water taxi to Disney Springs. I highly recommend staying here If you are looking for a Moderate priced resort at Disney.
Xoxo
I definitely need to stay at a Disney resort next time I go- beautiful!!
