It's FALL!!

It has turned SO cold here!  This afternoon Brock had a soccer game and it was 45 degrees during the game!  Ava and I were FREEZING!  Luckily I had some jackets and blankets in my trunk because we were SO cold during the game. When we got home I made us a big dinner because we were all so hungry and tired. I made baked ham, mashed potatos, corn, and mac and cheese (lots of comfort food-ha!)

After dinner I got some of our hats and gloves out of storage.  I can't believe I am already getting that stuff out again, I feel like I just put it away.  I also got our doggie coats for Daisy, Cotton and Ellie.  Here is a picture of Daisy in her coat from last year.  They all love going on walks in our neighborhood but it is SO cold in the fall and winter that they have to wear coats when we go.  I LOVE this picture of Daisy

Tonight after Brock and Ava did their homework Ava and I made Apple Crisp.  She loves cutting up the apples.  We love making (and eating!) this in the fall.

Here is my Apple Crisp recipe, it is SO easy to make and it's really good!

4 cups cored and sliced apples (about 6 medium)

3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup flour

1/2 cup quick oats
3/4 tsp. cinnamon
6 tbl. butter

Place apples in a pie plate. Blend remaining ingredients until crumbly. Sprinkle over apples. Bake @ 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes until apples are browned and tender.

Now I am catching up on the shows that I missed last night, Biggest Loser and The Good Wife (love both of these!) and  I am looking for North Face fleeces online, I want to order one before it gets too cold here!

crafts, crafts and more crafts

I am working on getting all of my craft supplies in order, Graig calls all my stuff my crap supplies (ha!) Anyway, now that it's all in one place in the basement I realize all of the stuff I have. I always seem to buy paint, ribbon, scrapbook stuff, and wooden letter "E's"

Here's my not so organized Craft table. I am so happy that I finally have one!!

I made this cute little swag for St. Patrick's Day tonight with some fabric that I found yesterday in the basement. I like the way it turned out. I am going to put it out next week after Valentine's Day.

I took this picture of Graig and our dog Daisy tonight, Daisy is the Queen Dog around our house. She loves being right next to us at all times, Graig loves to snuggle with her so she loves to be in his lap whenever he is sitting on the couch. She also loves to go on walks, it was so nice today I was able to take her for a walk for the first time since before Christmas, it was so pretty out today!

Christmas Cards and Cake

This afternoon my friend Abby came over to do our family picture for our Christmas Cards. She is such a great photographer! (Thank you Abby!) I think the pictures turned out great! I ordered them tonight from Shutterfly, I can't wait to get them back to send them out. Sending and getting Christmas cards are my favorite part of this season!

We had our friends Dan and Jenn over tonight for pizza. Brock made his first cake for our dessert. It turned out really good!

For our family Christmas pictures I let Brock and Ava choose whatever they wanted to wear. Ava wore the new Christmas dress she got yesterday when we went shopping. Her dress also came with a dress for her doll, how cute!!

I got our dog Daisy a jacket to wear when we go on walks. I found this one at Old Navy for only $8.50! I wanted to get a cute picture of her with her jacket on, I took about 20 and this was the best one.

I love this one of her with her eyes closed. Poor thing, I don't think she liked the flash.
