Our weekend!

Here are some pictures from our weekend.  All of these pics are taken with my iPhone I am just so lazy to get out my camera my iPhone is SO much easier!  It was a hot weekend here in NY but it was fun and thankfully we got a lot done around the house.

On Friday I helped my friend Melany with her new store.  It is going to be a  fabulous fabric store!  Here are some shelves filled with beautiful fabric.  We painted furniture on Friday and helped her unload boxes of fabric.  It was a fun morning!

Sara, Melany and me
Here is a sign that she is going to hang in her window.  I think Eliza looks so cute in this picture.  Her mom Sabrina was our photographer on Friday!

Friday after we worked in the store we went out for pizza.  I also tried a deep fried Oreo which was OK.  I have always wanted to try one and it wasn't great so thankfully it's one fattening food I didn't really like.
While I was helping at the store Ava was with her friends and their families at an amusement park.  One of the mom's sent me this picture of all the kids that went.  She had a great time but she was SO tired when she got home!

Brock finished his JV baseball season.  It went by so quickly! He is playing baseball this summer so we will be going to lots of games!

Saturday morning I went to yard sales with some friends.  I got all of this fabulous stuff from Ikea and it's brand new!  It's a kitchen system. Graig is going to hang it up for me this week.

My gardens are starting to bloom!  Here is a picture of my first bouquet of the summer.
Saturday I also made these cute mercury glass votives using a tutorial from the Ten June blog.

My mother in law Janice got me these cute summer plates.  I love them and I'm sure we will use them all summer!

Today I am back at work.  It's so nice to be in an air conditioned office.  It has been HOT here.  I hope you all had a good weekend!

Our week in pictures!

Things are busy, busy, busy here!  I thought I would show some pictures that I took from my iPhone this week.  The quality isn't great but you can see what we have been up to!

Last Saturday was graduation at the College where I work.  This year has FLOWN by.  I always volunteer at graduation in the graduate robing area. It's fun to get to see everyone one last time before they graduate.  Here is a picture of me with AnneMarie one of my former students who is going to graduate school for higher ed!  Her grad assistantship is in Greek Life.  She is so happy and I am SO proud of her.  I am going to miss her but I know that we will stay in touch!
My intern Jerthys also graduated.  She worked so hard for me this semester and we had a lot of fun. I am going to miss her next year :(  She lives in NYC and when we visit there this summer we are going to get together for lunch!
Here are a few other pictures I took at graduation.  It was a beautiful day!  Looked how many cords and medallions these students have.  They represent honor societies and academic achievement.  I am lucky to work with many talented students!
Saturday was also a big day because my Dad decided to start a blog!  It's called News from the Illinois Prairie.  He posts pictures and talks about life on his farm.  He just recently planted a HUGE garden and bought some beef cows so he will be very busy this summer!  Here is a picture of some of his cows.  The one in the middle front is  Elmo. My Dad named him Elmo because Ainsley's favorite character right now is Elmo!  It will be fun to keep up with my Dad by following his blog.

Sunday I ran a 5k with some people from my running group.  It was a good, flat race but it was SO humid.  The heat was the hardest part for me.
Here is my friend Heidi and I at the very end.  I finished in 32:03

Monday evening my friends Sara and Josh had a gender reveal party for their baby.  They had a cake made and the icing on the inside was either pink or blue.  I thought the cake was so cute!

Here they are cutting into the cake.  As you can see Sabrina, Melany and I are in the background waiting with anticipation!  The icing was blue they are having a BOY!  I am so happy for them. I just knew it was going to be a girl so I had a bet with Sabrina, I lost so now I have to make her family dinner. It's OK though it was a fun night!

Tonight is Ava's parent watch day at ballet and Brock has a baseball game.  I am going to both so it will be a busy night for us.  This weekend we are going to relax, do some things around the house, go to a couple of Memorial Day parties and enjoy the start of summer!!

Trip to Brimfield!

Here we are before getting in the car!

Last Thursday and Friday I went to the fabulous Brimfield antique fair with three of my friends!  We had the best time. Brimfield is known as the “superbowl of antique shows” and it was amazing!  There were so many booths.  I bet we only saw maybe ½ of the booths.  It’s hard to say because it’s SO big.  We walked through tent after tent full of beautiful things both days we were there.  I went with my friends Sabrina, Melany, and Sara.  Melany is opening up a new store in a few weeks in our town and she wanted to get some display and storage pieces for her store.  She was able to get some great things!

See the uhaul in the back!  Melany got that to carry all of our treasures!

Here is the VIP tent!  There were a lot of bloggers and designers in this tent.  We just peeked our head in this one but it was fun to look at!

Here is me, Sara and Melany in front of one of my favorite tents.  Thanks to Sabrina for taking our picture!

My absolute favorite find was this tray with my last name!  This was a real beer company that went out of business.  I have seen these on eBay for a lot of money so I was thrilled to get this one for only $25!

Here are the four of us after a long day of shopping!

We got home on Friday so we had the rest of the weekend to relax. Brock and Ava got me these gifts for Mothers Day.  I will treasure them forever!  I especially love the rocks Ava painted that say " I love you"

The college students are leaving this week for the summer.  This semester has gone SO fast!  This morning Ava and I went out to breakfast with Marissa who is Ava's favorite college student.  Ava likes this picture of herself she told me that she had a double chin like I do in some pictures- ha ha!

Catch up!

I have been the WORST blogger lately.  Things have been busy and I have been reading blogs on my phone unfortunately I don't ever find the time to post on mine. Here are some pictures from my iPhone so you can get caught up on what we have been doing!

Ava had her ballet recital two weekends ago.  Here is my Ava with her friend Ava and her BFF Anika.

Ava on stage.  She is on the left.  Her costume wasn't my favorite but the red did look pretty on stage.
Last weekend I ran my first 10 k!  I never, ever thought I would run one. It was hard but SO worth it!  Here are some friends from my running group before the race.  I love my running group because everyone runs at different paces (I am one of the slowest) but we all support each other.  I am so thankful I am in this group!
My friend and neighbor Heidi and I before the race.  We stayed together during the race and we crossed the finish line together at 1:07.  I am SO thankful for her.  She kept pushing me the entire race.  We were a little afraid that we would come in dead last because it was a really small 10k but thankfully there were people that finished after us.

My sister in law Jill sent me this picture of sweet Gabe.  They live in Colorado so I am so happy when I get pictures of him.  I can't wait to meet him!

Ava got a retainer and head gear last week.  She took a "before" picture of her teeth last week on the way to school.  She has a sparkly purple retainer and headgear and she is as proud as punch of them.

Last week Ava and I went to the dance recital on campus.  Amber one of Ava's dance teachers was in the show so she came out at intermission to talk with us and she took a picture with Ava.

Happy Monday!
