Weekend fun!

Last night my friend Sabrina and I went to get pedis and then We went to see the movie Reverant.  It was an amazing film.  I think it will win tonight at the Oscars.

Today was a busy day!  I woke up bright and early and ran 6 miles with my friend Danielle.

After running I went home and got ready for brunch at my friend Petrea's house.  She has a gorgeous  house and we had the best time.  After we ate we got to sit outside which was fabulous!  We never get to sit outside in February in NY.

I love the way she set her table!

After brunch I raced home to get my house ready for book club tomorrow night.  We are reading this book and I haven't been able to  put it down.  It's great!

Tonight Graig and I went to a staff appreciation dinner for the YMCA.  It was so fun and the dinner was amazing.  They also had gift certificates for each of us which was so nice! My friend Erin also came to the dinner.  It was great to catch up with her.

I hope you had a great weekend!

Sadie Hawkins

Last night Ava and I went to my friend Lisa's to see her daughter and friends get ready for the Sadie Hawkins dance.  For Sadie Hawkins the girls ask the boys.

Here are the freshman girls all dressed up and ready for the dance.

Ava is in eighth grade so she can't go to the dance yet :-(. She had  fun taking pics with all her friends.  Here is Ava with Lisa's daughter Chloe.

Ava went to grade school with these girls.  I'm so glad they are still all friends.

Ava and her friend Shapri.  They play basketball together.

The boys also came over to take pictures.

Ava's boyfriend Ryan is a freshman and came too.  He went with his friends to the dance because Ava couldn't go.

Lisa's younger daughter is also named Ava so we always like to take a picture of our two Ava's together :-)

Here is Lisa and me.  We  are two tired Mamas after the kids left for the dance!

It was a fun Friday night

Celebrating Heidi

DMy neighbor and BFF Heidi has a birthday Saturday so a group of us surprised her last night for her special day.

She had no idea!  She thought was getting take out for her family and then we were all there to surprise her!

It was a fun night we had lots of good conversation and the food was delicious!

We got Heidi a beautiful flower arrangement and a gift to the spa!

After dinner a few of us helped Heidi take her presents and balloons to get car.  We stopped for a chilly selfie :-)

I hope you have a great day Heidi!!! Love you

Pasta Night

Last year I went to a Pasta making class with my friend Jenn and her daughter Ashley.  We had the best time and swore we would get together and do it again.

Fast forward to 10 months later and we finally got around to getting together and making it!

There are only four ingredients-flour, salt, olive oil snd eggs. we used fresh eggs from Jenn's chickens :-)

First we mixed the dough.  This step took a lot of patience.  Here I am hard at work while Jenn reads the recipe.

Then we had to knead it.  This is Jenn's daughter Ashley. Big things happened for Ashley since our last pasta night-- she graduated with her PhD in physics and had a beautiful baby girl Claire.

Here we are running the pasta through the pasta maker.  Jenn bought the Kitchen Aid attachment after our class and it made making pasta SO easy.

Jenn with 7 week old baby Claire :-)

We had to run the pasta through the machine 9 times to get it really thin and then we used another attachment to make the strips.  We made linguini.

Finally the finished product!  It turned out so good and with 4 of us it didn't take that long to make.  I definitely want to try and make it again.

St. Patrick's Day

This weekend I decorated for St. Patrick's Day.  I don't go crazy I just decorate the little hutch in our dining room and the bar area in our sunroom.

This is our hutch all decked out in green and white for the season!

I made our green monogram using my silhouette vinyl cutter.

This Jadite cake platter is from the Pioneer Woman collection at Wal-Mart.

I hate my handwriting but I did my best to make our chalkboard festive :-)

In the sunroom I decorated out little bar area.  I made the chalkboard myself! I didn't do much just added a little green garland and some shamrocks.

Happy Tuesday!

Invention of wings and micro greens

Graig and Ava went to Syracuse for
basketball games and I have spent a wonderful morning at home alone.  It's been heavenly.  I did some stuff around the house and I got into reading my bookclub book for this month.  I can't put it down!  It's so good.  It's called The Invention of Wings

This afternoon I went to a cooking class at a local garden center.  Taking cooking classes is on my 40x41 list and I was thrilled to find one so close to my house!
It was called "cooking with Microgreens."
Microgreens are tiny plants with tons and tons of nutrients.  I learned a lot and bought some seeds to make my own Microgreens at home! I planted them as soon as I got home :-)

They made us three meals using Microgreens-breakfast, lunch and dinner and gave us a small sample of each. Here was the dinner- it was black beans in a corn tortilla with feta. it was so good!!

I went with my friends Jenn and Barb. It got up to almost 60 degrees today which is a big treat for us for February!

I bought this make your own terrarium kit and put it together when I got home. In April our craft night is make your own terrarium and I think we are going to use these kits because they are so easy!

I got enough succulents today to fill up another terrarium I had. I love planting things and watching them grow :-)

Hope you had a great Saturday!

Fri-YAY

This morning I met my favorite girls for a workout. It's always good to start the day with them.

I met Lori and Lisa for lunch out.  Lisa was my nurse during my recent vein surgery and it's been so crazy I haven't seen her since so it was good to catch up and I always love seeing Lori!

Tonight I met some friends for dinner and then we celebrated our friend Billy's birthday.

We have a relaxing weekend ahead I can't wait!
