Home Tour Tuesday {dining room/kitchen}

Today on our home tour is our dining room/kitchen.  We live in a 1933 Tudor house which we love.  Here we are in front of our house this past fall.

This summer we are renting our house out to baseball families that are here for camps.  We have 12 weeks booked.  During that time we are going to move into a little house that we bought last fall.

Our living room and dining room are two separate spaces on our main floor.  We use our dining room for eating obviously but also for crafts and games.  I love our cozy dining room and we spend a lot of time in this space.

Here is our dining room from another angle.  My Dad gave us the table and a few years ago we had it refinished and stained darker.  The French doors go out to our back dec k and the doorway leads to our office.

Here is our kitchen. A few years ago I painted our cabinets and last year we put up the wooden shades. We spend lots of time in this little space :-).

I hope you loved our tour.  Until next week.

Home Tour Tuesday {Living Room}

We have been working so hard getting our house ready for the summer baseball rentals.  I thought over the next few weeks I would show you pictures of our home.  Today we are going to start in the living room.   This is the room that we spend a majority of our time in.

Our entry opens right into our living room.  I also have a little desk area in our living room which is great for doing crafts, paying bills and just generally keeping myself organized.

Here is the view looking into our living room.  Our wooden shades are new-ish (I've had them about a year) and I love them.  We've had our couches forever and they are so comfortable!

Here the view going the other way.  I got the mirror a few years ago from TJ Maxx and the bird print is from Home Goods. I painted the coffee table turquoise years ago and I still love it!

Here is one last look. We have lived in our house almost 13 years.  I have painted this room at least  four times.  I wanted it darker and about two years ago I painted it much lighter and I love it :-). I think it will stay this way for at least a few more years.

Years ago I did a house tour and you can see our living room before here.  This is not my style at all any more but it's fun to go back and see what our house looked like back in the day.

I hope you have a great Tuesday!

Home Tour Tuesday {Sunroom}

This is the second installment of home tour Tuesday.  A few weeks ago I showed our teeny, tiny entry.

It has been rainy and gloomy for weeks so it's been hard to get good pictures of this space.

This room is right off our entry and we use this room for hanging out and reading.  When Brock  comes home he'll take this room over and set up his computer and video games in here.

It's hard to get good pictures in this room because 2 of three walls are all windows.  There are 7 windows in this room.

Oh our red couches that were SO popular circa 2004.  It's quite comfortable but I'm hoping to replace it really soon.

This is our little bar area.

My mini green house from Ikea holds my succulents.

I got this beer tray when I went to Brimfield a few years ago.

I hope you enjoyed our sunroom!  Next week is our Dining Room.
Have a great Tuesday.

Christmas Tour 2010

Today I am doing the Christmas Tour with the Nester today!! I have done this for the past two years and it was so much fun to see how everyone decorates for Christmas!  Its also fun to look back and see how I decorated because I like to change it up every year.  I LOVE decorating our house, I put up our decorations the weekend before Thanksgiving because I love having them out. I think they make our house look so warm and welcoming, I like to have them out as long as I can!

Ok let the tour begin!  We will start in our living room because that's where I have the most decorations.  Here is our mantle.  I LOVE putting lights on our mantle.  I prefer colored lights and Brock and Ava like them more so that's what I use on our mantle!

I LOVE this printable!  I got it from the eighteen25 blog

Our heater is another little area in our living room that I like to decorate.  I made the ribbon tree this year.

I also have a little table in our living room that I like to decorate

A yarn ball wreath I made this year with my two favorite Christmas colors Red and Lime Green

A  festive NOEL printable.

Moving on to our dining room and kitchen.

This small tree is in our office which is right next to our dining room.

I always like decorating the hutch in our dining room for the seasons!

I also just got my first cloche!  I filled it with ornaments for the Christmas season!

Some Christmas vases and bowls

Snowflakes hanging from our chandelier

I made this photo hanger to hang up our Christmas cards.  I  love going to the mailbox and  getting Christmas cards in December!

I made these joy blocks from a craft kit that I got on Etsy.  It was a fun project to put together!

This is the area on top of our fridge.  I LOVE this plate I got it at HomeGoods a few years ago!

Ava and I made this little tray this year.  I love the teal and red together.

I hope you enjoyed looking at our Christmas home!  I can't wait to sit and go through all the homes on the tour.  I love looking at other people's houses and how they decorate especially at Christmas!

Merry Christmas

our office!

Today on Kelly's Korner home tour is home offices.

Last spring I painted the shelves in our office black. I really like the way they turned out but I don't think I ever showed them on here. They are very large and take up one whole side of our office. I like that they also have 4 cabinets (one in each corner) for storage.

Here is a close up picture of the shelves.

When I was in Illinois I got this cork board at Hobby Lobby. I LOVE it!!

Ava put on the pictures for me and she said that they are mainly pictures of her with just a couple of Brock-ha ha!

This is a picture I made out of scrapbook paper. This used to be a large canvas I didn't like the picture anymore but I wanted to re-use the canvas because it was so big (and expensive!)

This is our blanket chest/bench that I think works really well in there. We also use this for extra seating sometimes.

Our Office is really small but I am glad that we have the room, it's right off of our dining room.     Graig uses our office way more than I do I think  it's his favorite room in the house.  He does all of his Little League stuff in there and he has file drawers for all of our paperwork he loves organizing our paperwork (yes he's a dork-ha ha!).

Graig and Brock's Little League Pictures

Our house was built in 1920 and I think our office used to be a 4th bedroom.  We have a teeny tiny bathroom that is attached to our Office that was a closet before it was a bathroom.  Here are some pictures of that bathroom.

I hope you enjoyed our office tour.  Happy Friday!

Show us you Life-Kitchens!

Today Kelly's Korner Show Us Your Life is Kitchens!!  My kitchen (like every one's)  is the most important room in our house.  Our house was built in 1920 so it is also the smallest ( I guess big kitchens weren't that important in 1920??) and the first room that you walk into when you come into our house using our side door (which everyone does!).

My biggest DIY project so far has been painting our kitchen and kitchen cabinets. I did the BIG project the week between Christmas and new years. I LOVE the way it turned out but it was a ton of work! When we moved in our kitchen was knotty pine-yuck!!! It was awful!
I love the rest of our house and the kitchen was my least favorite room. Right after we moved in Graig, my Dad and I spent a few days and painted our whole kitchen blue. I liked the way it looked for a few years but after a while I wanted a change! So right after Christmas I decided to get to work. It took a lot of work but I am SO glad I did it! I really, really like our kitchen now!

I hope you enjoyed the tour of our kitchen.  It will be fun to go through and see everyone else's kitchen!
Happy Friday!

Dining Room!

Today Kelly from Kelly's korner is doing a dining room tour! I just painted our dining room and I LOVE the way it turned out. It's not the biggest room in our house but we do spend a lot of time in there especially since we don't have an eat in kitchen.

Here's our dining room table with our fall centerpiece and the table set.

Our huge chalkboard that I put our weekly menu on.  I also just painted two walls in our dining room a robin's egg blue color.  I LOVE the way it turned out.

This is the wall and door way that goes in to our kitchen.  I made this memo board/picture holder at a craft night with my friend using a old shutter!  Our shoes go in the crock because we have little dogs that like to hide our shoes :)

These plates are on the same wall the doorway leads to our kitchen.
This is a cabinet that I got at a yard sale for $30!  It is solid wood so my friend Sabrina and I sanded it down and repainted it.  It is my favorite thing in our dining room!

Here's a close up of our BIG chalkboard.

Our house was built in 1920 and it has some quirky things about it including that all of our heaters have these heater covers. This is the one in our dining room.

I hope you enjoyed our dining room tour!  I can't wait to see all of the other dining rooms today.  Happy Friday!!
