Catch up!

I have been the WORST blogger lately.  Things have been busy and I have been reading blogs on my phone unfortunately I don't ever find the time to post on mine. Here are some pictures from my iPhone so you can get caught up on what we have been doing! 

Ava had her ballet recital two weekends ago.  Here is my Ava with her friend Ava and her BFF Anika.

Last weekend I ran my first 10 k!  I never, ever thought I would run one. It was hard but SO worth it!  Here are some friends from my running group before the race.  I love my running group because everyone runs at different paces (I am one of the slowest) but we all support each other.  I am so thankful I am in this group!

My friend and neighbor Heidi and I before the race.  We stayed together during the race and we crossed the finish line together at 1:07.  I am SO thankful for her.  She kept pushing me the entire race.  We were a little afraid that we would come in dead last because it was a really small 10k but thankfully there were people that finished after us. 

My sister in law Jill sent me this picture of sweet Gabe.  They live in Colorado so I am so happy when I get pictures of him.  I can't wait to meet him!

Ava got a retainer and head gear last week.  She took a "before" picture of her teeth last week on the way to school.  She has a sparkly purple retainer and headgear and she is as proud as punch of them. 

Last week Ava and I went to the dance recital on campus.  Amber one of Ava's dance teachers was in the show so she came out at intermission to talk with us and she took a picture with Ava.

Brock's morning routine!

I know this all the time but Brock Aaron is getting so big and growing into a young man!  I can't believe in 3 years he will be going off to college.  He is so busy with school, his friends and sports we don't get a lot of time together.  I'm so thankful that every morning we get to eat breakfast together and I can talk to him a little bit about his day.  I am usually getting back from the YMCA when he is coming down stairs to eat breakfast.  We get to spend about 15 minutes together eating and talking.  I like to watch the Today Show at 7 so we watch that for a few minutes and then he turns it to Sports Center. 

Here are some pictures of him from yesterday morning. He wasn't interested in getting  his picture until I promised I would bring him some pizza to school before his next baseball game :) 

Catch up!

I can't believe I haven't posted in about 3 weeks!  Yikes!  We have been SO busy I haven't really had any time to blog.  Here are some pictures from my iPhone from the past few weeks.  Hopefully I will be able to post more regularly now. 

The most exciting news is that we have a new nephew and Brock and Ava have another cousin!  Gabe was born on Saturday, April 7 in Colorado.  He is the son of Graig's younger brother Garth and his wife Jill.  We are SO excited for them!

Our neighbors host an annual Easter Egg hunt for their friends.  This year they had about 30 kids at the egg hunt.  Here are some of the kids lined up and ready to go!

Ava is going through a sassy stage (I hope it's just a stage) and she hates me taking her picture.  She refused to smile in this picture.  Here she is looking at her eggs after the hunt. 

The day before Easter we had a little Easter Egg hunt in our backyard with some friends.  I love that Brock is so excited in this picture!

On Easter Sunday we went to Grandma Jan's for lunch.  She made this adorable egg tree.  Ava is wearing her new autographed Dance Moms shirt that she got for Easter. 

My sister always posts the cutest pictures of Ainsley on her blog and on facebook.  I love this picture of her on her tip toes looking at the baby chicks.

Weekend wrap up!

Our weekend was busy and fun!  We started out the weekend at Melany's for Pillows and Pizza!   It was a fun girls night in! 

Here are some pictures from the night.  I made-OK Melany made me :) two pillows for our couch. 

Saturday we just hung out at home and then Saturday night Graig and I went to a dinner for our work.  It was fun to get dressed up and go out but I didn't take a single picture!

Sunday Brock was in a basketball tournament so we watched his games.  We went out for breakfast after his first game.  Here he is with his friend Willie. 

After a long day of basketball Brock's teams won the tournament!  He he is with his friend Jordan.  For winning they got drawstring backpacks. 

Last night was the season premiere of Mad Man my absolute favorite TV show!  It hasn't been on for 17 months so I was SO excited to watch the first new episode of the season!

Touches of spring!

It has been SO nice here lately!  The temps have been in the 70's which is unheard of at this time of the year for upstate NY.  I have been decluttering and organizing using this book that I got last fall.  It has so many great tips and ideas.  I am doing just a little bit each day so I don't get overwhelmed.  So far I have worked in our bedroom, kitchen and basement!  It feels SO good to get organized!

I added this little owl plate I got at TJ Maxx to the wall in our living room. 

I also added some touches of spring to the table in our living room. 

Here is a close up.  My plants love it on this table since they get so much natural light.  The candle is pink tulip from Bath and Body Works.  The plate is from TJ Maxx.

A few weeks ago I went to Homegoods and got these bird canvases.  I LOVE them!  I put them in our dining room and I think they look so spring-y and fun.

Ava's 10th Birthday!!

Yesterday we celebrated Ava's 10th birthday!  She is growing up SO fast!  She wanted two things for her birthday

1.  A puppy

2.  A perm (can you believe that?!?)

A few weeks ago she got a puppy- a cockapoo that we named Lily.

Last night we had a cookout and ice cream cake for her birthday!  Grandma Jan and my friend Sabrina and her family came to help us celebrate!

The birthday girl was tired and this is the face she made every time I tried to take her picture.

I forgot to get  candles for Ava's cake. The only # I had was 7 so Sabrina added three fingers to make 10!

Ava and Eliza were both so tired right after the cake they went and snuggled up in the chair.

Tonight after school I am taking Ava to get a perm.  The poor thing has wanted curly hair forever and she is constantly trying curlers and curling irons in her hair to get it to curl.  I am taking her where I get my hair cut so I'm sure they will do a good job.  I will post pictures soon!

Snow storm!

Yesterday and today our little town was hit with a snow storm.  It was the largest one of this super warm winter.  Brock and Ava had a snow day today and I was glad because Ava's had the touch of the stomach bug and she was able to just relax and rest. 

This morning my friend Sabrina texted me to asked me to watch Eliza for a little bit because she had an appointment.  While we were there Ava laid down and they watched Toy Story 3.  That is such a sweet movie!

Sabrina got these baskets at the Dollar Tree we added some vinyl letters.  I think they are adorable!

We also made this cute wreath.  Ok really Sabrina made most of the wreath for me.  I love the spring colors!

Another thing that I love about spring are the fabulous scents at Bath and Body Works!  This one is my favorite!

I am thankful for our relaxing snow day and I'm looking forward to the SPRING!
