Saturday mornings!

Saturday mornings during hte summer are spent going to garage sales and our farmer's market with my friends Allison and Sabrina   I am SO sad the yard sale season is almost over :( 

A few weekends ago I got this old milk jar.  It has the name of our town on it.  I just love it.  It's in our kitchen and I'm trying to grow some plant sprouts in it.

I also always look for milk glass to add to my collection. 

 At the farmer's market I always get fresh fruits, vegetables and plants.  There is one lady that comes every week and  she has the best plants so I always stop by and get one.  Last week I got some Rosemary and a few weeks ago I got a basil plant. 

I also bought these beautiful ferns from her.  I hope they last!

Tuesday, Tuesday!!

The college students came back on Sunday so I am busy, busy, busy at work.  I made these cute little treat bags to welcome them back to school.  They had pens, pencils and candy in them. 

Last weekend Allison and I went to yard sales.  I got this adorable turqousise enamal bowl.  I just LOVE it!  I put a plant in it and put it in our dining room table. 

I'm also SO proud of these flowers on our deck.  They have just done so well this year.  Usually my deck flowers wilt and die in June. 

I got this milk glass container at yard sales too.  I added this basil plant that I got at the farmer's market.  I hope this basil lives it would be so nice to have fresh basil at home.  I'll let you know usually my basil dies after a week or two. 

Last but not least these pretty flowers from my garden.  I love all the summer blooms I've gotten from my garden this year!

Yard Sale Finds!

I am one yard sale away from being featured on the show Hoarders-ha ha!  My friends Sabrina, Allison and I go bright and early every Saturday to look for treasures for our homes.  We always leave at about 7:30 in the morning.  You have to go early to get the best stuff! 
Here are some of the things that I have found recently.  They have found some great stuff too,.  Hopefully they will put their treasures on their blogs too!

I love this silver pitcher.  I keep it in our kitchen and I hide our sunscreen and bug spray in it. 

I got this huge pineapple for $1 last weekend.  I think it's adorable.

Ava found this antique oil can at a yard sale in our neighborhood.  I spray painted it turquoise. 

This is one of my favorite yard sale finds-an antique bird cage.  I love the yellow color. 

I think I might have already showed this before but I just adore it.  We got these windows for free from a guy that was putting in new windows in his house.  I just took it home and cleaned it up and put it on my wall above our fireplace. 

I spray painted these red chargers turquoise and all of the plates, the bowl, the cloth napkin and napkin ring are all from yard sales! I love getting dishes at yard sales.  You can find some really cute ones!

This little table that I painted is another of my favorite yard sale finds.  This table was only $1!

I had to leave early one weekend and Sabrina and Allison picked this milk glass for me. I love it!

I got this table for $2 at a yard sale last weekend.  I painted it...wait for it...turquoise and now Graig uses it as his nightstand!

So I guess I should by stock in that turquoise spray paint after looking at all these pictures together I realize I use that color a lot-ha ha!  We  are going to go again this weekend. I can't wait to show you what we find!  Happy Thursday!

garage sale finds!

Almost every weekend Sabrina, Allison and I go to yard sales to find treasures.  We are going again tomorrow morning.  I thought I would show some of the things we found last weekend.

I love these, I bought 8 yellow bowls.  Here's one with my salad from tonight. 

 I LOVE turqouise so when I saw this I thought it was perfect.  It's really old use to be used on electric poles. 

My friend Becca uses enamel pots and bowls for drinks when she has parties.  I thought this would be good for Gatorade, capri sun, etc when Brock and Ava have their friends over. 

This turquoise crate is going to hold magazines in my room.

I love old windows!  This one was $3 and I put it in my garden. I like it just the way it is, I'm not going to paint it or do anything else to it.

Speaking of my garden, I picked these beautiful flowers from it this afternoon.  I love all the summer blooms!

Our bar

I have been obsessed with having a bar for the longest time. I don't know why I started wanting one but it seems like I always have.  My friends make fun of me because I am always searching and buying things for the bar.  Graig and I don't even drink that often so really the bar is just for looks.

Happy Friday!  I am SO glad it's the weekend!  It is suppose to be chilly so we are just going to hang around the house and relax.  Brock and Ava just finished their first week of school they are tired.  We won't do too much but I do want to start getting our fall stuff out.  It might be a little early but I LOVE decorating for fall.

My friends Sabrina, Allison and I have been going to garage sales for a few weeks in a row.  We have been finding some really good things!  We always leave really early on Saturday morning (7:45!) to get to the sales early.  Here are some of my recent finds.

garage sale finds!

I got up at the crack of dawn (6:30) to go to yard sales this weekend.  I am SO glad I got up early and went, I got some cute things!  I went with my friend Sabrina and of course Ava wanted to go too, she always LOVES yard sales. 

My find of the day were these stools.  They were only $5.00 for both of them!  They are painted white and distressed so I took them home and cleaned them up and I am going to use them the way they are.  I LOVE them!

I love silver trays and this one was only .25 cents!  I put it on our coffee table in our living room to hold our remotes.

I got two of these green leaf plates they were .50 cents for both.    I think they will be fun to use this fall!

I got 3 of these guacamole bowls for .50 cents!  We LOVE to make/eat homemade guacamole!!

This sweet little vase was only .5 cents!  I put some peonies in it from our yard and put it in our kitchen.

Last but not least I got this pedastal from the free pile!  I am not sure what I am going to do with it yet so for now it's holding one of my summer candles.

Cutie Pies!

I re-read my last post and it was SOO random-ha ha!  Anyway I forgot to post this picture of Ava and sweet little Eliza. Eliza is my friend Sabrina's daughter, we are always together so Ava and Eliza spend A LOT of time together.  Ava loves Eliza so much and always loves to help Sabrina out with her.  Wednesday night we went to get ice cream and it was Eliza's first time riding this little merry go round.  Ava held Eliza while she was riding it.  I LOVE this picture of the two of them together, Ava tries SO hard to help Eliza whenever she can. 

This weekend is super busy for our family.  Ava has her dance recital!  She actually has four shows this weekend.  One tonight, two tomorrow and one on Sunday.  I am going to be with Ava all weekend.  I am helping out backstage for two of the shows and then I am watching the other two.  Brock has two baseball games and I'm really sad that I am going to miss both of them because of the recital :(  Thankfully Graig is his coach so at least Brock will have one of us there during his games. 

Tomorrow morning there are a TON of great yard sales in our town!  Sabrina and I already talked and I am picking her up super early (6:45!) so we can get to the sales early.  I hope we get a lot of great things!

Garage Sales, Baby Girls, Peonies and Turtles

This is going to be the most random post ever!  We have had lots and lots going on and I am going to try to condense everything that has been happening down to one post.  I am going to apologize in advance for the lackluster photography in this post, all of these pictures came from my iphone.  Lately I have been too lazy to take real pictures with my camera-ha ha!
Where should I begin... last weekend my friend Sabrina and I hit up a few garages sales on Saturday, we got some really cute things!  We also had our own sale at my house on Sunday with about 6 other families!  We made over $600 and all of the money will be used to help send our boys to a week long baseball camp/tournament.  The cost is about $800 per boy so the garage sale was only one of the MANY fundraisers that we have held this year. 

Here are some pics of the things that I got

A white vase for only $1.00!  I love this I have it in our dining room, I am not sure what I am going to put in it yet but I love the way it looks!

 Black and white chicken plate that cost only 50 cents!  There were two so Sabrina took the other one to put in her house.

Pier One candle holder.  This was free!!  It was not sold during our yard sale so I kept it! 

The little flower pots were $2 each,   I love the colors!

Today after work I was watering my flowers and I saw this giant snapping turtle sunning in our driveway!  I couldn't my eyes!  Ava and I were the only ones home at the time.  I called Graig who was no help because he was in the middle of batting practice with Brock's baseball team so I called our neighbor Heidi.  She came over with her kids and we got the turtle into a big plastic storage tub and we took it to a steam about 1 mile away from our house. 

After we removed the turtle I was able to finish watering my flowers and plants and I cut some peonies for our living room. 

Yesterday my sister Shelby went for her ultrasound and she found out she is having a baby GIRL!!

Ava and I are SO excited!  Graig and Brock were hoping for a boy-ha ha  She is due on October 1.  They don't have any names picked out right now but she wants to decide before her shower in July.  She also registered for this adorable bedding and accessories at Target.  Graig and I bought her the 3 piece bedding set as a gift for finding out the gender!

garage sale finds!

Yesterday I found some GREAT things at yard sales in our town.  This is the very beginning of yard sale season and I am so excited!  I love going and finding treasures!  Ava and I left our house at 7:45 am

My absolute favorite item of the day was this little table.  I am going to paint it and it's going to go in a corner in our living room.  I was so excited about this that I already went out and got the paint.  I am going robin's egg blue on the bottom and an off white for the top.  (Sorry these pictures aren't the greatest,  I took them with my iphone.

I have been looking for a birdcage forever.  I really like this one it's yellow. I cleaned it up last night and I am going to put a plant in it. 

Pretty bowls, you can never have too many!   These were only 1.25 each!  I am not sure what I will do with them but I do love them!
