Baseball and Ballet

Brock had a baseball game tonight and Ava had ballet, so after work I was running around like a crazy woman making sure they got where they needed to be on time. Most days after work I am running both of our kids somewhere, either to practice, a game, gymnastics, a friends house, etc. Today while I was speeding down the road trying to get Ava to dance on time the song "Your Gonna Miss This" came on by Trace Adkins. This song spoke directly to my heart, I started crying because this song is sooooo true! Here are some of the lyrics...

You're gonna miss this
You're gonna want this back
You're gonna wish these days hadn't gone by so fast
These are some good times
So take a good look around
You may not know it now
But you're gonna miss this

At Brock's game Ava and I worked in the concession stand which was fun. While we were there Ava took this picture of herself. Ava loves taking pictures, especially of herself!
Graig was just elected President of the Little League Board for our town, so he brought home all of these files tonight. Aren't they awful? I told him my goal for his year as President is to get these files organized and into a nicer filing cabinet. After the game Brock was laying on the couch and I told him that I wanted to get a good picture of him for the blog and he kept laughing and laughing. The more I told him to smile, the more he would laugh. Here he is with our dog, Daisy. Tomorrow night after work I am having a Lia Sophia jewelry party. I am having about 10 friends over for the party. I am cooking dinner for everyone. I made taco salad, enchiladas, cheese and crackers, a vegetable platter, and apple crisp. I set up my dining room table as my serving table tonight so I would be all ready for the party.

Here is my Apple Crisp recipe, I got it from the Weight Watchers website. I love this recipe, it's great for fall because of all of the fresh apples in the stores!

4 cups cored and sliced apples (about 6 medium)

3/4 cup packed brown sugar

1/2 cup flour

1/2 cup quick oats

3/4 tsp. cinnamon

6 tbl. butter

Place apples in a pie plate. Blend remaining ingredients until crumbly. Sprinkle over apples. Bake @ 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes until apples are browned and tender.

Preppy Mama is having a great giveaway. She has been blogging for one year and to celebrate she is giving away an adorable preppy swag from her esty store, The Little Pink Hen. If you leave her a comment you will get a chance to win a Preppy Halloween swag!

This is a picture of the swag she is giving away, I love it!

I heard that the other day and I broke down because of Ashlyn now living with her Dad. It kills me to think of everything that I am missing. For the first 8 1/2 yrs of her life I did not miss one thing, and now she is 10 hrs away from me. It hurts to think about it. I hope you have a great weekend.

Thanks for posting that song. I hadn't heard it before, but it made me cry, too! It just makes me want to treasure every moment and teach my children to as well.
